Our '93 OBS Suburban Frame Off Big Block Build is Rolling! (Junkyard 14 Bolt Prepped By Logan)
Logan makes her directorial debut in this video! I had a ton of office work to catch up on so she took the GoPro into her own hands without any help from me! You guys asked for it so here you go. I think she did a great job! We got a 9.5" 6 lug 14 bolt rear end from a junkyard and it needed to be cleaned up and painted just like the rest of the frame. We install it using polyurethane bushings and new hardware.

You guys that are here now are the real ones and we appreciate you. This is the nitty gritty of the build that most won’t think about once they see this Suburban ripping nasty burnouts with an 800hp big block in a few months. Welcome to the team. Where are you from?

The Motor City Detroit Michigan!...I'm building a stock car replica 1994 Chevorlet Caprice....it's going to be one sick build...there isn't going to be anything like it!...engine swap...boxing the frame and tons of stuff that's going to make this one nasty build...it's going to be built to walk on anything Mopar that's on the street...it will be my pleasure to take them out with Chevy power!

  • Mikefromtexas

For the short period of time of it just being her...she is doing a damn good job and also explains everything really well to. Definitely would like to see more of her as well plus it'll even the filming load out as well. And music I like old school rock when it was good unlike whatever new crap nowadays. Keep up the awesome content guys👍

  • sirmonkey

nice job Logan.. more you do stuff on camera the more you'll get use to it. even just recording basic every day stuff that won't get used in video's explaining what you're doing can also help get rid of some of the nervousness.

Logan you did a great job with the camera! It is good to hear comments from you as you are working on something. A different point of view than Mitchell's.... not a big thing.👍

    • Stapleton42

My point of view gets old I know 😂 kidding. Thanks man 💪🏻

Logan taking the reigns for a day means we get a little deeper insight into her personality. Good thing for sure. Enjoyed it guys. Teamwork on point

Also, pro tip, if / when Y'all go to put the aluminum bushings in the front of the leafs for the Cal-Tracs You're going to NEED, hanging the springs from the engine hoist whilst using the press to remove the old and put in the new ones makes it MUCH easier.

Beautiful job, Logan! That suspension and frame look AWESOME!!!! You are such a hard worker!!!😍👍🙏

  • bonecrrusherSS

For your rear swaybar mounts - I took a set o exhaust clamps - welded that to a flat piece of steel - and then bolted a set of poly mounts on the other side. I did this on my 05 2500 HD. My 2500 didn't come with a swaybar - and I got one from a junkyard in Charlotte. irglo.info/from/qsaWrqaEi6qpg5c/fy-lm-h-y.html

Awesome job on the rear end Logan! I love that Mitchell wants that repop sticker so it's a true factory restoration. If you can find a decent picture of it I bet y'all can print one or redesign it to be close to original but sneak a Suck It somewhere in there 😂

Excellent solo debut from Logan. The "this is us" personal stuff is great. When you were talking about your haircut and she said that you are her person rang with a level if earnestness you just don't hear as much any more. As I've said, I have a 98 Sierra Z71 and I love this build! I can't wait for more educational, entertaining and real stuff from you guys.

Y’all are the best! Love the car content but Love the life talks more. It’s what we need more of on this life. And for you guys to get it at your age is impressive. Wise beyond your years. We all just need to love one another and think about what each other are going through. Life’s tough sometimes. 👍🏻

    • Stapleton42

      Thank you Danny

  • niiko_91

You guys are doing an awesome job. It’s really inspiring when I’m also restoring my -97 obs Tahoe. And the talk at the end is really nice listening too, I mean I can 100% agree with you guys, and it’s kinda sad looking back in time. I miss the good old times man. Also, I don’t know if you are reading this, but I really wanna meet you guys in person some day. At the time right now I live in Sweden, and It’s not cheap owning American trucks out here… Im 18 at the time and when I’m finishing my diesel mechanic education my plan is to move to the states. It’s been a dream since I was a kid and soon I will live it. I’m not sure what state tho. So, I’ll see you in another video Logan and Mitchell, and maybe in real life one day. Have a blessed one.

Really enjoy watching the videos while I’m working or at home.. sure hope you get that rear end sticker!(i think it’s cool too), my fam had a 95’ 1500 LTZ or LT and man was it nice to drive with the far back sub rattling like a snake, favorite moment was the tmnt hand 18:32 I tried it at work not so easy the first time & the cut out 25:29 that smile on his face that’s me when I’m watching & rolling up lol

On my 99 Suburban, I cut off the sway bar mounts from my 10 bolt rear and welded them onto the 14 bolt. As for rear disc swaps, check out Jeremy Rogers brackets that use Eldorado Park brake calipers if you want to retain the park brakes, or his brackets that use the stock front calipers.

  • Clinton Dieter
    Clinton Dieter

Watching Logan go to town on that rear end is cool but I personally enjoy watching y'all work together. My wife admitted to me last night that she loves the sound of my Challenger. She is not a car girl at all. Thought she was jealous and hated my car. Watching y'all together gives me hope that she will one day enjoy helping me work on my hot rods...

I use oven cleaner too. I wonder if that metal prep has muriatic acid in it or similar. When Logan showed how it was reacting just like muriatic acid does on rust and metal, which I also use in some situations. Good stuff as always you two.

  • ceedubya

You can’t go wrong with capping the rear brake lines and putting two pull handles for the brakes by the front seat. One lever in just the front brakes for sick burnouts and one rear lever for sliding around curbs and extra stopping if you need to stop or something

Big tip for y'all.. you will love how much easier this makes it for you in power washing.... go to menards and buy the rotory tip , I call it the Zip Tip, the tip rotates in the end of it. But be careful not to get to close to anything you don't want washed off cause it WILL strip paint , pinstripes, stickers or anything of such clean off. Excellent for takin grease and grime off FAST. 💪😉👍 😆EVEN STRIPPING crusty PAINT or RUST when needed. I even enjoy the sound it makes😆

    • Stapleton42

I’ll check that out thanks man!

Props to Logan , I been on the channel long time and she always helps here and there . But never realized she actually has learn from helping and watching to the point that she’s a gear he’d herself. Respect Mitchell and Logan are SAW 100%. Can wait till you guy’s reveal her build project.

Getting caught up, was out of town in Phoeniz, AZ yesterday so missed this until today! You & Logan both rock! Kudos to her for jumping in and helping out while you take care of the biz end! Logan, do not feel stupid using the go pro camera, you did a wonderful job both shooting this part of the video and also the amount of work prepping the rear end for paint, etc. Mitch, you are a good man and sometimes you gotta take care of biz, you both make a great team! I'm duly impressed with the skills you both have, as I've got 35+ years in the mechanical business and retired from it. Will look forward to the finished project with the mountain motor you're installing in this magic bus aka Suburban! Always with you both as you tackle each project and make it work well, and am glad y'all are here! Thanks for another great video, be safe out there!
